Speech therapy clinics
Insurance verification and prior authorization for speech therapy clinics
Wiz handles the insurance work before and during speech therapy care. It verifies benefits, calculates expected patient costs, and updates the results into your existing EMR. Add prior authorization to identify requirements, submit requests using available clinical documentation, and return the payer’s decision to your team.

Check the benefits for the care you plan to provide
An automated insurance response through a clearinghouse or EMR can leave your team with unanswered questions about the evaluation, treatment benefits, remaining visits, or authorization. Wiz checks therapy-specific benefits and applies your clinic’s payer and financial rules so staff have an answer they can use before the appointment.
If information is missing, the workflow includes phone calls to obtain the information. Cases needing clinic input are flagged for attention.
Keep authorization work connected to ongoing treatment
Speech therapy often continues across many appointments. Approval dates and the available visits or units both matter. Wiz identifies when authorization is required, uses available documentation to submit the request, and updates the results back into your EMR.
Your team can see approvals, pending requests, and cases needing documentation. The authorization workflow is configured around your clinic’s payers and the way your team records care.

Give families an estimate they can understand
Wiz calculates expected responsibility for the evaluation and planned treatment using verified benefits and your clinic’s applicable contracted amounts. Families can see the initial cost and how expected payments change as a deductible or out-of-pocket is met. Starting 1/1/2027, Wiz’s patient estimates will provide multiple patient payment amounts for 30, 45 and 60 minutes treatment times as the front desk may not know which the duration for which the SLP will treat.
The estimate reflects the information available at the time. Changes in coverage, other claims, or the care provided can change the final amount.
Support the team you already have
Adding clinicians or locations also adds insurance work. Wiz helps your team spend less time moving information between payer portals, spreadsheets, and the patient chart. Your staff continue scheduling care, documenting treatment, and talking with families in the EMR systems they already use.
During setup, the Wiz team checks your EMR workflow, payer mix, locations, and clinic rules. Show your current authorization process and existing eligibility tools during the demo so the Wiz team can show how Wiz fits.
